In 2010, my sister, Leila and I went to the Taybeh Oktoberfest in Taybeh, Ramallah, Palestine, the last fully Christian village left in Palestine. It was an amazing experience to say the least. And we have been wanting to have a Palestinian Oktoberfest, ever since then — live and simulcast with Taybeh village — to show our solidarity and unwavering support with our Christian brothers and sisters

Finally, after all these years, we are able to do it

Sadly, we are not able to get Taybeh beer in due to relentless settler violence, but we managed to get beer from another brewery in Birzeit Palestine. And it was a struggle as you can imagine

For those who are not aware, illegal settler violence has always existed, but severely escalated this past year, because… well… they’re pretty much done with Gaza, so they’ve moved on to the next phase(s). The tiny bit of news you may get such as the Israeli  settler attack on an NBC News crew is only because its just too big to ignore. They burn churches, descecrate cemeteries and routinely spit on clergy. They set fire to St. George, a 1,500 year old Orthodox church.

As ancient faith Orthodox Christians grounded in our faith, we refuse to sit back and let this happen
