The Roman Temple of Bacchus (The god of wine) which was built thousands of years ago and where Romans celebrated magnificent wine festivals, still stands today in the Beqqa Valley in Lebanon, where we get many of our wines from. How appropriate is it that the same vines of Lebanon — which produce the wines of today — still grow in the very same soil where the Roman Temple of Bacchus was worshiped 2,000 years ago
Khalil’s specializes in Lebanese, Syrian & Palestinian wines — grapes picked from those very same ancient vines and brought straight to your table to enjoy the fullness of Levantine culture. Because these countries are in the throes of imperial wars, these products, and their carriers, must travel through war torn and dangerous territories to get here, and as a result they are sometimes difficult to get in. To this we have a lot to say, but for now, we will simply say, get it and enjoy an authentic & true taste of The Levant, while you still can
We invite you to join us in learning about our rich cultural heritage and will be having wine tastings, educational lecture series and cultural events in the coming months, all of which will be announced on our social media platforms
BLANC & ROSE
REDs
levant classics
Arak, an ancient spirit, is uniquely Levantine, with origins dating back over a thousand years It is known throughout the Middle East as “The Milk of Lions” . Beautifully potent. Meant to be savored & enjoyed. Flavor profile, anise. 100 proof.
Join us & Terra Sancta Trading for World Arak Day Every June 27. Arak reunites the region that was divided into French and British colonies by the Sykes-Picot Agreement of 1916. On June 28th, 1919, the Treaty of Versailles was signed officially breaking up the Ottoman Empire into European colonies under the mandate system. In doing so, both the political and the alcohol culture of the region were unraveled and transformed and Arabs were divided from each other, forever. For this reason, we chose June 27th, the last day of Levantine unity to celebrate Arak’s unique cultural heritage
